Oakwood Forest Christian Church is a Bible-based, Christ-centered, service-oriented, and love-unified fellowship of Christian believers. Our congregation is associated with approximately 5,500 Independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ across the U.S. with a membership totaling over one million. It is our desire to promote and preserve a church without human name, man-written creed, or other barriers to Christian unity. As our enduring slogan so aptly says, "We do not claim to be the only Christians; we seek to be Christians only."

As Christian only, we invite you to join our church fellowship which is one congregation of the Lord's one Church. The terms of membership are identical with the conditions of salvation set forth in scripture. We understand those conditions to be faith in (Hebrews 11:6/John 3:16), and obedience to (Hebrews 5:9/II Corinthians 2:9) Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In accordance with scripture, that faith must be publicly professed (Matthew 10:32/Romans 10:9-10) and that obedience must be demonstrated (John 14:15,21), initially through repentance for sin (Acts 17:30-31/ Acts 3:19/ Luke 13:5) and baptism (Acts 2:38/ Mark 16:16/ Romans 6:4), and continually through following Jesus Christ (John 8:31/ Luke 9:23).

The Lord then adds you to His church (Acts 2:47) and gives to you the promise of eternal life (I John 2:25/ John 5:24/ John 3:16/ II Thessalonians 2:14/ Romans 6:23) and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5/ Acts 2:38/ John 14:17/ I Corinthians 3:16/ II Corinthians 1:21-22).

We urge each person to prayerfully examine his/her relationship to Jesus Christ and we offer ourselves as a spiritual family where that relationship can be nurtured, developed, and shared along with others of the household of faith.
